Per ovviare a vari problemi ho installato MDK 10.0 con il kernel 2.4.25 premendo F1 durante l'installazione e inserendo il comando alt1 per caricare il suddetto kernel al posto del nuovo 2.6.x.

Inoltre ho eseguito manualmente delle piccole modifiche al file ppp-2.4.0b2-patched elencato nella guida di cui sopra, altrimenti compilando il modulo si ottengono degli errori all'interno di ppp-2.4.0b2-patched/pppd/plugins/pppoe.c (riga 216) e di ppp-2.4.0b2-patched/pppd/plugins/pppoed.c (righe 172 e 190). L'accapo nella stringa produceva un errore di mancata chiusura degli apici della funzione. è bastato togliere gli accapo per risolvere il problema.

Quindi ho modificato (o creato) i files /etc/ppp/otpions, /etc/ppp/chap-secrets, /etc/ppp/pap-secrets e /etc/resolv.conf come mostrato nella guida.

omg, you were pretty close, i had to boot up my linux box, fire up a konsole, su into root, like you do, then the usual..

./configure --prefix=/pr0n
make pr0n
make install pr0n

but at the make pr0n it moaned about something, so i couldnt go to the make install pr0n. So i opened up (this is the funny bit) one of the files and omg, there it was, a couple of <cr> where <cr> dont belong. Couldnt stop laughin (still dont work though, bloody thing wont find CnxADSL.o) :(

o is a compile time file so clearly cnxdsl.c isnt compiling correctly try a manual compile of just that file see what errors it throws up

Furthermore, I manually perfomed some small modifications to the file ppp-2.4.0b2-patched, which was reffered to in the guide above. Otherwise, when compiling, you get some internal errors in patched/pppd/plugins/pppoe.c (line 216) and ppp-2.4.0b2-patched/pppd/plugins/pppoed.c (lines 172 and 190).
The newline in the string produced an error denoting that the function was missing a closing curly brace. It sufficed to remove the newline and the problem was solved.

Therefore I modified (I created actually) the files /etc/ppp/otpions, /etc/ppp/chap-secrets, /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and /etc/resolv.conf like the guide showed.

That was all.

It compiles alright, i even moved it to /lib/modules/2.1.4.. oh, hang on, I'm 2.1.6.. bugger that could be part of the problem.
