Well bit of a bummer :( just a few questions
1)Will this effect the release date in any way as it is losing a week of beta testing?
2)Will the e-mails presuming they havnt been sent out be put back also?
3) would it be possible for you to post the specs of the servers as since your getting them you must know what said specs are :p

They bought a 486 from the local antique shop in hannover, but its gone missing during transit, thats why its been delayed a week...

I'm quite shocked they've left buying (and this stress testing) their new hardware til the last moment. It might save a few € in hardware but will cost a lot more if that hardware is faulty. Time is money dammit.
To look on the bright side though...at least they're buying some new kit, the poor hamsters were on their last legs ;)
They clicked my advert and thought "omg, enlarged guinea pigs!" so ran off and got the new Guinea Pig 2004 Server, Extreme Sports Addition (go faster stripes in the Guinea Pig :p)

/edit - changed it to the right date now, i'd set it at 2014, just to be on the safe side, but didnt want anyone to worry :angel:

Not that I was going to get in Beta anyways, but still I hope Neocron 2 doesn't suffer from this either by having the official launch delayed also or having more bugs than it could have. :(
BTW, I'd like to know the servers' specs too! ^_^ :angel:

I doubt it will go live September 1st unless there's been ALOT of internal testing going on.
Things always happen, like the new hardware being delayed, and then who knows what problems they'll have when the new hardware is setup and so on and so on..
There's just way too many things that have to go right when doing something this big.
While I respect KK and the publishers for giving a release date in good faith, release dates are almost always not met.
Neocron has been given a second chance for a proper release with proper advertising and hopefully not a rushed, bug filled product as was the case with CDV and the first release.
I doubt it will go live September 1st unless there's been ALOT of internal testing going on.

I hope KK don't just pick people they like for the beta. The server is full of people are more than happy to play NC2 to destruction; they may not make KK feel happy but they'll make a better game in a shorter time.
I believed MJS when he said NC2 would be out on 1st September and I still do, but they're cutting this awefully fine.
When I was working for Q3F (http://www.q3f.com) we were often slaving away right up to, and often past, the release deadline. KK don't seem to have left themselves much time to play with, but if they had I've no doubt they'd have just added a few more features and still be rushed at the end - it's human nature :)

It seems the old lady on her bike wasn't able to carry all the hardware pieces from ASDA on her own so the delay is for them to try and put a piece of wood across the handle bars so she can balance it all on their. But seriously though can anyone remember back to when KK set a time for something and actually came through with it?

I don't think missing September 1st would kill NC as such. It would certainly piss off a large amount of current members and likely make a lot of people quit, but the whole idea is to get new players in anyway. Given the recent incidents such as the disruption of player events I'm starting to think it might be a good thing if all of this community left and KK started fresh with a new one...
EDIT: @Oath: I'm normally one of the first to jump to KK's defence, but in this case, I can't really see why they didn't order the hardware earlier to avoid this kind of scenario.

NC has always had a very different style of play than those games Celt. I don't see why it couldn't pick up the same kind of numbers as early NC1 did, and that gives KK another chance to keep that playerbase.

Exactly, the people that NC appeals to have generally either played the game, or heard about it and decided not to play.
BDOY should be concentrating on them and not brand new players who have never heard of NC before.

Not that I believe a word of it mind you. "Pre-order was delayed to save you money!" "it was delayed for your benefit!" "The servers are late, not our fault" Either KK is the nicest company with the worst luck, or are some nice spin doctors.

Damn this... now I won't be around till a week after the beta starts which means I'll be spending my entire week in Greece wondering if I made it into beta or not... And if I receive the mail before I leave I'll be crying my eyes out the entire week.

omg no :(
with the beta going back a week.. its starting right on the monday i'm on holiday.. leaving comming friday for a week :( omg.. noooooo!! well at least i can play beta if i get in when i get back. will be pulling mails down with my phone anyway :p
