I dont know if this sort of idea has been posted before, but what the hell, I want to know what the opinion is. Recently, Ive been getting tired of not being able to visit the northern sections for lvling, op waring etc. Its even to the point where Ive run into some doys when moving around from Nemesis to Soliko.

The idea I put forward then is, instead of removing the DOY bots in the North, balance it out with a fair number of Storm bots in the southern sections, just to balance out the anti-city advantage in op wars.

well, if were playing this realisticly, what with the attacks down south, reeza would pull the storms back to consolidat his position at the city.

Not plausable while there are still Neocron based anti-CA factions and anti-CA suffer almost as bad from running into hordes of STORMs hanging about.

Anyway the war is at the DoY gates not ant NCs.

Im speaking from a OP Waring lvling point of view. For Most pro-city factions its impossible to access the graves and I hear el-farid is getting worse. At the moment, especially for any newcomers, it will be near impossible to access any of these areas. The idea was to just balance the game a bit.

I think it was Lupus or Callash who once said that DoY bots > STORM bots when he spawned them in the Jeriko cage - due to the DoY's rayguns. But given space - STORMs easily obliterated the DoYs.

err were you not at the event a month or so ago when about 50 DoY bots, Y-reps and loads of other mobs invaded outzone and fought their way into the inner city? The war certainly is at NC's gates as much, if not more so until DoY is released, at the dome's gates. And Pro city runners were in just as much danger of being killed by the storms guarding the city as by the attacking DoY troops. They need to sort things so that blatantly anti-city runners are not welcomed in by the city guards. I know this will get hundreds of complaints about not being able to trade etc etc but if we're actually RPing this properly, anticity runners would not be able to trade freely within the city walls. Also, there are hundreds of places anticity runners could trade with neutral/pro city runners, why do trades need to take place within the city and safe zones? You want to trade with the enemy you should have to take risks, as you would in real life. People would turn up with bodyguards, not knowing what the enemy will do. Chances are the trade will take place then all hell would break loose, as it would in real life. You either take the risk or carry out trade's at a gr :) Would be an excellent improvement imho and would remove the frankly ludicrous situation atm of having blatantly NC hostile runners walking freely round the majority of the city. Flame away :D

So Crahn BD and Tsu need to be kosed in Neocron because they are anti-city even though they start in the city?

Raids behind enemy lines are not uncommon in any war and thats exactly what those events were, if the war was at the NC gates there would be DoYs spawning there all the time.

I dont see how having STORMs all over the southern sectors balances thing as new BD Tsu and Crahn runners will be permenantly stuck in the city except for venture warp which could get them killed anyway.

i see your point JJ but right now (pre-doy) we all have one city only to work from so everyone will go there, if Storm bots started executing "red" factions on sight in neocron city then there would be hell to pay from the players who are in the anti city factions. When Doy is released it will be better as the pro city lot will have their place and the anti city lot get theirs too. everyone wins.

The Storms own the doy bots, the Doy guardians own the storms pretty much but probably just up close as someone said due to raygun. But they eat up a storm pretty fast atleast when upclose.

I personally think it would make the game a lot more varied and interesting. It would mean that you could find ppl in other places than p2. BD/TS basically own pp, they should make all areas non copbot guarded (if not already??) Crahn would have the Crahn abbey, it would mean that people would actually populate the wastes and other areas of the city. At the moment, 60-70% of a server's population can be found in/around p2. I just find it riduiculous that openly anticity runners can saunter about a large part of it. Failing that they need to make the canyon/TH safe zones with large areas unguarded by NPC's so we can have CA/TT/BT etc runners casually standing round in the heart of their enemy's territory casually dicussing the weather without a care in the world ;)

Okay so a crahn newb starts off in outzone so you basically want him stuck there until he can either get a ppu to bring him through 3 or 4 outzone sectors or is high enough level to survive?

Same for BD and Tsu starting in PP?

When people from these faction start in DoY yeah fine but not until then.

in CQ

DoY Guards > Storms > DoY bots > Rest

at range

Storms > DoY gaurds

however, a DoY guard vs DoY bot at range is a close call

wheres Lupus when you need him :p

The range is irrelevant, the NE bot is made to be hunted, STORM bots are just some heavly overpowerd guards.
NERF THE STORMS !! !! :D

actually, Apparition would kill the doom harbinger, because the DB cant hit the broad side of an Xbox at 10m.

Lupus never tested the apparition v anything else so I cant tell you but I think he said it took 4 storms to take a harbinger down, but this was before mob resists so god knows what its like now.

Actually would be a good game for casinos to watch and bet on mob fights using random 120/120 mobs in teams against each other.

It was 4 of the DoY Bots to take down a Doom Harbinger, and iirc it was with the new resists since I was doing the matches offline at home, since they won't fight normally on their own with their ingame faction settings. Maybe later on when I'm a little more free for time I'll see about doing a few more of these, I'll throw the apparition in then.

Yeah.. I think that'll be down to the AI mainly. I would have thought you could solo one if you made use of terrain and/or circle strafed it.
