View Full Version : [OT] Computer stuff: used AdAware, Spybot, etc. etc. - Need help!

I've used Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy, I've replaced Internet Explorer to lower the risk of Spyware. Yet I am still getting annoying Dialers appearing on my computer every 30 minuits disconecting me.

This is extremely annoying, especially whilst playing mmorpg's. =/

Any clues to what I should do next?
Also, any automatic ways to "fix" my registery?

A HijackThis log would help for us to figure what's going on.
Just a suggestion tho.

Try https://www.prevx.com/homeoffice/prevxhome/prevxhome.htm it blocks spyware and stuff, currently in Beta, and stop surfin porn sites :p

/edit - if dialer software is appearin without you looking at some sites, it is most likely a virus that needs kicking in

Do like Sleawer says and post a HijackThis log.

I don't know how to take a log, but I searched through the lists and found some obviously problematic programs listed. (With names that are the same as the dialer for example :p) I deleted those ones instantly.

I'll post the logs in a minuite, as soon as I work out how to actually do it. :rolleyes:

Once you press the Scan button, in its place appear two new ones: "Save Log" and "Fix Checked"... guess which does what? :p

Anyway I wouldn't get used to remove stuff with HijackThis (besides the obvious porn crap of course hehe), as it turns to be extremely efficient in doing this, but do not make distintion between what is what, and you may remove something that you shouldn't.

lol that reminds me - i was on yet another sharing programme during the weekend and found this file ending so stupidly - for example:

drompron.jpg.exe

hmmmm, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM - wonder what the hell that could be :o. Was so tempted to download it just to watch norton spaz out :)
