I downloaded RTCW today (the free version for online play) but the server I wanna play on is buggered, keeps bootin me :( Anyone got a nice server and wanna play? :p Btw, never played RTCW before, so a nice gentle server till i can figure it out would be nice :p

the jolt ones are always a good place to start off on, then when u get hardcore move to the german and nl ones.

i used to play rtcw hell of alot then it died and i played enemy territory but never at competition level.

pretty decent game but so many cheats available for it made me stop playing.

http://games.activision.com/games/wolfenstein/ clicky linky then clicky Enemy Territory, then find the url to DL teh free game (and patch to 1.2) its like 250ish MB so a small file, nice looks though and smoooooth :D

My ISP has 2 servers, one needs some mod or something, the other kept bootin me :(

back in the day we had mega config hacks mapoverbright bits picmip settings, i remember at the intel gaming master in london we were restricted to certain brightness etc we were all moaning about how dark the game was lmfao, punkbuster is a pain in the ass it really is sometime reports you for using an aim bot even though ur not and the whole server will be like omg the cheating bastard.

You will need to patch your version of ET. The et u downloaded wont be the newest one, apply the 1.02 patch which can be found here: http://www.3dgamers.com/games/wolfensteinet/

And you will need ET PRO installed for most servers (thats a competition mod) which u can get here: http://bani.anime.net/etpro/download.html

Was already upto v1.02, just dunno why i kept gettin booted from the server, was sucky so I asked my ISP to look into it (its nice to be able to bug em :D)

ET Pro, thats what the 2nd server runs, have to grab a hold of it sometime :)

Are you joining a PunkBuster enabled server? If you don't have PunkBuster on it'll boot you. Though even if you do have it on, sometimes it throws a hissy fit and you get "PB Init Failure" or somesuch. I love Wolf ET, but it can be fustrating in that you get no message when you're booted from a server. You just get generic "You have been disconnected from the server" That could be because of a player kick, admin kick, too much team damage on certain servers, ping spike, PunkBuster problems, etc. You have no idea unless you try to connect again and ask the ppl playing if they noticed.

As for servers, I use the ingame browser to pull up a listing of servers. Though now I've got my favorites set so I don't even need to pull up the fulll list.

Also, just for clarification. Return to Castle Woflenstein was a fps released several years ago, it had single and multiplayer modes. Afterwards, a group called Splash Damage was working on a sequel/mod for RTCW but the project was canceled. Instead of scrapping it, they patched it up and made it available for free online. That's Wolf ET or Wolfenstein: Enemy Territories, which is a free multiplayer only version of RTCW with lots of enhancements and generaly much more fun. ETPro and ShrubMod are two ET mods most often used on the servers. ETPro is definitly more serious and usualy considered the real ET. Shrub is just for fun : )

BTW, did I mention i love Wolf ET? : D
