Apparently there is a bug in Mozilla/Firebird/Thunderbird on XP and 2000 that allows stuff to be run on systems with this browser using the shell* thingymabob, its recommended that you update to the latest version of these to protect your system... Or for those that went from IE to Mozillia to stop gettin these bugs, HAHAHA :p

Note that the exploit only "works" on Windows systems...
Equal things across platforms often shows that the Windows equivalent function is less secure.

What would you expect :p

Indeed - I'm a lazy bastard :p but i was up till late watchin ER (i'm addicted).

Anyhow, i recommend you all install the worlds best browser!!!

Fix within hours...

http://www.mozilla.org/security/shell.html - There is a patch as well as new versions of the software.

Btw, the exploit isn't in Mozilla, it is in windows. It is just that shell command opens up the exploit in windows. In all other operating systems the shell command can't exploit anything.

Well, true, its only in XP and 2k... /me goes and installs OS2 Warp :p
