Awesome battle scenes for sure. Can't really say that i see a huge improvement on the graphics, but as long as it runs smoother, than thats the most important thing.

Definitely appears to be a more polished game. Esp with new KK intro graphic.

DivX is a compression subtype. MPEG is a compression standard.

Movies that need the DivX codec can be almost any type of video file, its just the way it decompresses the file.

erm dude it is mainstream, they even have a 3mb connection. they only way
you prolly wont get it is if you live in the very north of scotland. If you can
get telewest cable TV (which about 90% of the uk can) you can get a 1.5mb

First off, i am very dissapointed with the DoY video, imo it shows fuck all of DOY which is what we wanna see, we've seen the apartments already, show us something new, but i agree the trailer works well because it does make you think the game is better than it is, for all them poor people that wanna get an account on Neocron and dont realise that you get a fatal error every 5 mins, the biggest bug in the game. why not sort that out before you go making stupid name filters (which i do agree with :P).

Sorry i was just bitterly dissapointed with the video.

Nice in general. I'm reserving judgement until I actually play it tho. lag can easily be removed from movies, they can easily be recorded on top end systems, they can be touched up. But, if the movie hasn't been altered too much, nice. very nice.

From them ovie it looks like they've speeded up the play of neocron in general. I hope this is true as it would be a nice touch. I've always thought Neocron always needed to be just slightly faster paced in every aspect (casting speeds, firing speeds, running speeds, wlaking speeds, vehicle speeds).

It showed next to nothing of DoY, gliders are in-game and all but the appartment scene have been seen already.

There was a noticable fps drop in some of the battle scenes where it went from a smooth steady fps to a lurching 10-20 fps(its the vid, not my pc) which begs the question - just how much is done on doy?

The video is a taster, a peek, the delicious smell of a well done roast dinner, or in this case MMORPG.

It is designed to get people interested, make them visit the website to find out more, make them sign up for a trial period.

As to those who are complaining about it not being extremely widely spread yet, I personally don't think it should be. Do you really want all the new potentials to come here, sign up for a Neocron trial and see the game in its current state? Would you continue your interest until BDoY if you were that person? The real marketing should be done once people can sign up for a trial under the new game.

@ Benji - Compression, think of MPEG as a BMP and DivX as a JPEG, the BMP is higher quality because it shows all the information, the JPEG is a lossy compression, so say you have a huge area of black, instead of showing every bit of black, it says "that area is black" so can compress it.

im/we're not here to sugar coat things, and give people high spirits. You only supposed to kiss ass if either doing it for free or outta the kindness of theyre heart. Look at it like this, if someone came to paint my house, they had a bangin advertisement which shows well painted houses and they come over and fuck my house up, you think I'm gonna say well hey! atleast they took the time to do it? nope. Regardless, we are paying customers, we dont HAVE to like what we see and if we dont, we will state it. oh my that was wonderful right before that i dl'ed a 'couple' other trailers for games and this one beat the crap outta all of them..... it looks creamtastic i was so excited i even managed to watch it another 8 times... woke up everyone in my house to compare what the cooler looking game was ya thats right doy won! and hell i even was so hyped i managed to read all the bitching and bickering on this thread....
