If you can get a copy, try XPlite (http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html)

IE cannot be fully removed from windows, only hidden. Several Windows components depend on IE functionalities, and some program you may install use IE, such as kazaa.

a low level format is the only way, other than burning your hard drive at a bonfire deep in the mountains.

IE Can NOT be removed, only hidden like what was said. Microsoft purposly did this with the later versions of windows to go around some sort of incomming monopoly ruling about microsoft including its own browser with windows and not other borwsers, something about it hurting the chance of any other potential company making a widly used browser. So they went ahead and made it a dependant part of windows and unable to be removed. if you go to add remove system components, and remove/add IE, u will see that it only removes around 5 megs of info, which isnt anywhere near the size of IE :D

Try doing a windows Repair, but truthfully, IE problems are a huge huge pain in the ass to fix because of how its a non removeable item, if somethign seriously compromisses IE its really hard to fix now, if fixable at all.

ok thanks...

1 thing that i find wierd... and that sorta is stupid is that people are angry at microsoft cos they include there own products and software for free in a OS that they made... it just seem skinda stupid forcing a company not to distribute there own products inside there biggest product

It wasn't that at all. Good read here (http://www.usdoj.gov/atr/cases/f3800/msjudgex.htm#v) (long to read all but covers everything and intresting).

As for IE. Can't be removed. Best thing to do is to set security to high for everything in IE, then use another browser. The latest patch sets the hidden area "My Computer" security to high afaik.
