Hi!
Here is another idea i had. How would you like to be able to put up customized paintings and posters in your new appartments? I would love that.
Should only be available for appartments. An integrated p2p-client could transfer the information (jpgs) when you enter an appartment. Just make the file size limited to maybe 40k an image and a maximum number of 4 images per appartment. And give the players an option to turn this special feature on and off.

What? And how mach database space you mean? Its supposed to be a p2p solution. So no images saved on the servers.

erm, with doy they shell bring customizable apps, only then you will have er wish granted.....

Well I would like to have a customized picture showing in my appt.... especially while building stuff for people who only spend 30 seconds in their appts, of course (and then run around with 5 slot stuff I made, hehe) :lol:

maybe somethign like the paintings in system shock 2.
for those unfamilaiar they had electronic paintings with a set of images you could cycle through and choose the one you liked best. (think bill gates' house) i think something like that would work nicely. it would add just enough customization without having everyone and their dog uploading images.
Don't think appy poster would take off but what about sprays like in Counterstrike halflife etc. I Gank ya, sex ya and spray the wall with my tag above your dead corpse. heh heh
and maybe a few uber rare one of a kind master pieces

Yeah those system shock 2 paintings were quite cool, I wish NC would have such paintings too! :D

If it was ever possible i'd love to have a big painting of my clans star logo in our clan apt, that'd be great :D
I don't log into a game like Neocron to have someone direct connect to me through IPs to send me something I don't care about. and to see what? flowers, RL family picture, logos, excessive violence pictures, porn. It's not something that can be monitored really either. Someone could throw up child pornography and no one would know better till we get some parent who sync's into their apt and then prepares to sue KK for even allowing something to happen. No thanks.

Well, thats why you have an OPTION wether to use this or not. No pictures and no downloading if you dont want it.
As for the content, thats up to the maturity of the users. I dont know about legal issues, but i guess thats like being an internet provider. As soon as you get information on illegal content, you have to remove it, and press charges against the offender.
But i see, again its not the good thngs that count, its only the exploits we have to worry about. I can understand how the live of a game developer, especially an online game, must really suck.
I apologize to all the members of reakktor for every bad thought that crossed my mind. I can now feel your pain, and know what you have to deal with.

I normally wont go beyond Page 3 unless I'm actually looking for something in specific.
However, in the past, I have once or twice seen very old topics at the top of the forum(front page) and just once, posted in one "bumping it" for everyone else.
Weird bug that happens so intermitantly that there's no point reporting it because they'll never find what causes it :|
in eve you can choose form a huge list of emblems for your corp...
mebbe not if we can make our own, but give us a list of ones to choose form for each faction, like a list full of eagles and stuff for CA, and Omega style things for Crahn etc

It's completly impossible due to copyright issues, one migh use a copyrighted material, logotype or smth like that and owner of the intelectual property could sue KK for using it in commercial product as NC is.
thats how my suggestion would work, KK could ok what they want to
Indeed, predefined set would be cool. Especially as decals on PAs.
