email them, explain what you're doing and ask for _written_ permission to use their music (pretty much all american music) for your non-profit video. Then you'll be able to legally show it without having to worry about being sued. And you should be able to post it here too. :)

Ive looked through the page, where the hell can i mail em O_o
well the RIAA are crazy about suing people (they're sore from losing money to kazaa and napster)... Anyway it's a way to distribute your music on the NC boards. I had to contact them for permission to use music on videos I made a few months ago... takes a while for them to respond, and they usually give guidelines on how you can use their music.

what the hell is with that client? that's the smoothest nc I've ever seen - check out godsoft's stuff and others, everyone is hopping around the screen - that's usually what I get

what gives?If I had to guess, the guy who made that video made use of the secondary output option of his/her graphics card. Making another computer do the actual recording, this means you get less of an FPS drop due to not running a resource intensive program in the background, allowing you to make smoother videos.

Video was recorded with S-Video Out on Radeon 9600Pro of my first computer to S-Video In on TV Card of second computer. But my TV Card (Hauppauge WinTV Radio) suxx so i am limited to record in resolutions <= 352x288 :mad:
With FRAPS or Snag IT 'n stuff (muuuch better quality) it's impossible for me to play and capture, even with everything tuned down (detail, resolution)
hm i kinda thought about gettin' a hardware MPEG2 encoder (TV)card with TV In, that wouldn't be limited to the low capture resolution too... but they're not really cheap :rolleyes:

Yeah it is actually. Any use of copyrighted music besides private listening is an infringement. Sure you can make a music video with it but you cannot (legally) distribute it. It would be like ripping an mp3 and allowing people to download. Only they have to get a video too.
