Hi all,

in the German forum is a quite amusing thread (http://neocron.jafc.de/showthread.php?t=101697) about the tactic (or lamenes, whatever) to drop turrets while fighting.

What do you think about a 30 second spawntime for turrets (and with this the constructor cant move while placing) ?

Someone had an idea about all turrets starting at 1 health amd then gain health over time. And that was imo, the best solution to turret whoring.

I would prefer if the constructor had to build the turret insitu (in the OP... so it builds deployed).

IE with lots of parts and the time to build etc.

I would also like this to be the same with the vehicles. Only build em at an ASG etc so the finished product is spawned in front of you.

ummm... no... if you do that, then a spider could could kill it, hell you could punch it once and its out...

maby have it start at like...45% or 50% of its normaly health, that way it has a chance to live...
edit: they aint that hard to destroy... its jest when people come in then stick them on the hack thing and all that when your randomly fighting, but still...

Well, the point of this is that they wont be usefull to drop in the middle of a fight. U can still clear the area of "spiders", and place it, before the fight. And turrets are hard to kill, if theres a PPU sheltering and defclecting these, they are indestructable.

before you whiners get something else ruined
its bad enough now that if your the only one to defend the op and are a tank or a apu you cannot drop turrets
just stfu and deaL with it turrets are part of game AND do not make ops impenatrable
you whiners already got crazy construction reqs on them just stfu and deal with em

Y'know how when you put a BP and parts in the processor and you hear the *click* of the building process starting? Then the little bar putts along and you hear the *click* again that it's done. That's how turret placing should go. Put the Turret Package in the processor with a Contstruction tool and click start. You don't need to be frozen as your speed while constructing is already limited, the build should take about as long as any other item of it's TL, a good 15-20 seconds. When the click is done, wherever you're standing, Mr. Turret appears, with full HP.

perfect. skip the fact of carrying the bits in the inv. the poor ickle spy got enough to do cartin the turrets round let alone parts as well.

wow that is good idea. maybe i would recomend using remote repair tool.

My opinion is based on the fact that:



Outpost Turrets- Turrets can no longer be placed if the player has stealth activated.

Like the Patch 198/199 (http://www.neocron.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=504&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0) notes clearly stated. If people can still stealth drop, then KK didn't code it right. The build/placement should be cancelled if you stealth.

Turrets also should be repairable with the Remote Repair tool.

If you're the only one to defend the Op then well sorry you lose. Turrents should be placed during non battle moments not when the heat has already started.

This is actually a very good idea, rather than a clan being allowed to stock up on turrets and use them whenever, the constructor actually has to build the things from a BP and parts, standing where they want the turret dropped and then it auto-deploys. They could remove the cst requirement entirely from turrets because as TL 100 or whatever you'd need a good constructor to build them in the first place. Not many good constructors would gimp their dex to stealth either.

30 second construct no matter the TL is a great idea, even if they removed the 100cst requirement. Dont know why they havent done it allready yet? what does it hurt? lamers dropping turrets mid fight, that's all... ;)
