Doom 3: really July 1st?

I go into my local Game Stop software store (Im in NYC) and I ask the guy when doom 3 is comming out, expecting to hear "maybe aug or sept" well, he tells me july 1st... I was surprised and asked him if he was sure, he responds "thats what id tells us"

So what do you guys think? anyone else heard July 1, or is this total BS?

possibly, it wasnt at E3 due to he dev's putting finishing touches to it for release

/edit amazon says Aug 1st, Gameplay says 126 days to release, so I've no idea.
