... the 7th of July. This first trailer will show various new features of NC:BDoY such as the HackNet, apartment customization, new vehicles, various Dome of York places, new HUD, new graphic effects in the Wastelands, huge battle scenes, overhauled Neocron Plaza area and more.
The trailer will be initially released on the German magazine "Gamestar, Sonderheft MMORPGs", which is to be released on the 4th. We plan to offer the trailer for download on the same day. If you want to offer an official mirror for the trailer, then please feel free to post in this thread or to send me a PM.
The size will be around 100 MB (DivX in 800x600 res). We also might put up a smaller version which then would be around 50 MB.

I had to change the announcement from the 4th to the 5th, since I noticed that the 4th is a Sunday and I doubt that the Gamestar will ship on a Sunday (although this was the official date which was given to me)... Also, I guess it's better to announce a SAFE date (especially within this community), because I don't want to be called a "TRAITOR! LIAR!" and whatnot again... ;)

I can torrent it for everyone. It will be on my home comp so nothing special. When i torrent it i dont know tho. I have to work from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am (GMT -5)on the fourth. So as long as i'm able to downloaded it by the time i get home or before i go to sleep i can do it. Everyone should have a good solid 6 hours or so to download it while my comp is doing nothing while i'm sleeping after that the BW might get flaky. If i have my second rig up and running by then i can leave it on that for ever(well damn close).

I remember when N/O was a big fansite in the community that I was with (back in my old volunteer moderator days) and he reskinned the site to look like an Anarchy Online site and said that both he and I had left to go join the Funcom staff. Played that one for 3 days (office even played along with a mock banning of my moderator account) before letting that one out.....boy people were just a weeee bit pissy.

I remember back when I ran ofpec.com (Operation Flashpoint Editing Center), and for April Fools a few years ago, we redid the entire site to a Pokemon site, and gave a big loooong News post about how we'd had enough, lost faith, and converted over to something more enjoyable and satisfying.
With a visitor count of 4,000 per day, and 10,000 registered Forum Users, we upset a shitload of people. The IRC room that day was a riot, we were kicking anyone that mentioned OFP. :)
I sent mjs a PM I can host, have an oc-3 connection and unlimited bandwidth, can host both size trailers if need be, no problemo.

You should get a bittorrent set up so that people can download it very fast and it won't choke the servers it is stored on.
While it's handy as a fallback most people will need it on normal http/ftp and it's not hard to get BFO hosting these days.
I'm sure the publishers have someone lined up that can take the load.
Either theres somone signed up with a name they shouldnt have or the trailer wont be out untill the 7th :p

No. You cant connect to a server in a game using different things. E.G - you cant connect to a CS1.5 server when you are running CS1.6 :p

In other words, because ReaKKtor is the one who's made both the client and server software, they could always adjust both to allow multiple versions. ;)

unfortunatly I have bad news for the community regarding the release of the first "Dome of York"-Trailer. The games journal where the trailer will be released first will be in trade two days later (7th july). Sorry, you have to wait a little bit longer for the new and really exciting DOY-stuff! :(
I dont mind i just find this so funny tho. We all sorta expected it 2 Days is only 2 days. Which means i will be at work when it's released vise sleeping.

may i just say though, why tell us when it aint out, you lot will proably delay it and you will all be called trators ect....you dont want that, i wouldnt anyway.
so i think that you should only say a bout the movie, when its actually released.
