I have all dx settings maxxed and i get pretty decent fps and shit, got antialiasing @ 8x and antisopetric filtering on max, though it does get bogged down in some zones, and at opwars, but tilting the force fogging on a tad to the left boosts my fps.

I in no way have a 'uber computer' i run a gforce 4 mx440 si atm :lol:

None of the gfx card only stuff affects FPS really. The bottleneck in NC is restricted to CPU and RAM mostly, if you have a decent gfx card on forced AA you probably won't see any FPS drop at all. I have a 9800XT but still drop FPS in OP wars since it's a 2.6 proc, which is also slowing the RAM down to 333 FSB, but there's almost no difference in FPS with AA all the way up or off.

Nview forced 8x Antiailasing.... compare the difference :P almost brings NC up to standard graphicly.
I'm getting about 40-50fps there.. (doing nothing, noone else around)
lol, i used to get about 80 - 100, my HD crashed and now it dose randome shit , like it will go down to 3, but it whont act like it, itl act like its at 80 O_o...

It might be related to bottleneck in RAM... im quite sure...

My XP1700+ (at 2.346 gig) TYAN 9800 PRO, 1 GIG DDR

I get 250 fps standing in front of a wall does go jump higher sometimes. OP wars depends what OP and what not anywhere from 60 to 20. Running around the waste hunting i get around 130 give or take. All setting max except that damn vegitation detail that is off.

I'm still thinking that in a zone with no one in it and AA and AF maxed i should get around 90 or so. Will test when i get home in about 5 hours.

thats called vertical sync :P disable it and it'll go higher but won't improve your FPS it's just locking it to your monitors refresh rate

Why do u guys even use Anti Aliasing and ... Ansiotrophic Filtering, for those that do i suggest you don't.

It makes neocron like 10 percent better but 100 perfect worse in terms of FPS.

I have two "profiles" in my ATi graphics card settings, one is for cs (all highest details and shit) and neocron (all lowest) :p.

Btw i have amd 2500+
radeon 9800pro
512mb ddr

all my stuff is overclocked and i use aircooling.

around 250+fps lstaring at a wall in first person.

and 40 to 80fps average and about 10fps in OP wars -_-"

I have a 2.8 512 RAM Radeon 9700 Pro w/ 128MB

I leave all my settings at lowest on the card and highest in the game and get about 200 fps staring at a wall, walking around plaza i range from 60 to 80 fps.

Having all the settings on the lowest in the cards control panel i really don't notice a diff other than frame rates. Everything looks the same.

On my other pc I have a radeon 9000 with i think 64 RAM and it get's 333 fps staring at a wall and about 90 t0 100 fps running around plaza. It's on a slower pc 1.8 and has only 256 RAM but it out performs my 9700 and it bugs the shit outta me considering I paid $350 new for the 9700 and only paid $89 for the 9000.

By the looks of things on this thread , its ram that is doing it...

everyone with 512 MB ram (including me) are geting 30 fps (about) standing and 10> fps (about) in ops.

but ppl with 1Gb+ ram are geting 200+fps standing and 100fps @ ops

Most of the ppl with 1gb ram have the same set-up on their pc as me but just not the ram...

can anyone test this out?

You need to overclock that cpu somewhat.

I get that FPS in duels.

I dont really believe anyone can get 50 FPS+ constantly in plaza 2 while there is alot of people there AND they are looking at them all.

If someone had a 3.8AMD64 or AMD FX-53 OC'ed to like 3.0ghz or higher with good memory maybe, just _maybe_ you would get 50 FPS+ constantly in plaza 2 with lots of people.

Im getting myself a Gainward OC'ed 6800GT in 1 week when im payed...then ill buy further cooling, overclock it even more :D buy myself a Thermalright phat fucking SP-97 heatsink (http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/product.php?productid=17234&cat=486) and overclock my CPU as far as i can as long as it will last 1 month till i get payed again so i can buy a new one, probably an AMD 64 3200+ and OC it to about 2.6 ghz :p

That could be true about the RAM thing, my bro has same pc just about as me and he gets 1/3 the FPS i get in the same place, ive yet to overclock his pc because he thinks it will blow up or something but he has 768mb DDR333 .... :wtf:

Mine's touching 60, and it's at stock settings. 8| I'm using the retail fan and heatsink but there's 7 case fans in there all running at max.

5 case fans plus my HSF( heat sink fan) and the 2 in my PSU (power supply). Forgot to say i have my video card OC'd also 412/710 (360/680 stock i think). I ordered a new fan for my CPU today. And 2 120mm for my new comp also got a fan controller. Just got back from the bar. So this might not make alot of since. But it sounds right in my mind which is all that matters.

edit: I lowered my OC to have my PC3500 running at380(190)FSB with a 11 multi. Was at 11.5 with 408(204) FSB. Cant get enough juice to go over 408 FSB.

Ive been on my new system for a few days now, AMD 64 3400+ 2X512 sticks of Corsair DDR400 pc 3200 ram, radeon 9800 pro 128 meg... lowest my fps have dropped so far is the mid 40's, were a bunch of people fighting in OZ station. Everywhere else its like a constant 90 fps... doesnt go higher for some reason.... but then, you dont need higher.

I installed me a mobile athlon 2500+ yesterday.

Still trying to figure out how to get the voltage higher, but i think it's the mobo that won't do it.

Cool thing however is, i am running software that can swith the Multiplier from 0-14 depending on cpu load. Which means right now i am jumping from 900mhz to 2100mhz, and a temp ranging from 42-54°C, with my CPU cooler still not at max rpm (too fucking loud). OC is 150/30/150, so i think i'll get me the N7-s motherboard next month and replace my ECS K7s5a, since it is ageing a bit.

Plaza 1 i jump from 20-115, wastes around 20-70.

The ammount of RAM won't really change your FPS (if you have 512 or above).

What WILL help is the TYPE of ram.

But the engine relies most on the CPU (NOT the graphics card as with "normal" games). To get the best FPS in NC you'll need to upgrade or overclock your CPU.

The new DoY engine will rely a lot more on the graphics card though...

And yea, the point being antiailasing hogs your GPU, and neocron hogs the CPU, they arent balanced, like in other games. :P

yeah i play at 1024x768 i dont find it to bad. Took me awhile to get used to playing games on my 19 inch monitor (old one was a 17). My friggin chars are like 4 inches tall.

I ran at 1600*1200 with 4*aa + 4*af, 20 to 90 FPS in plaza 2 when busy, a few hundred when I looked at a wall.

Well, after much giddy anticipation, i upgraded my CPU to an AMD Mobile Athlon XP 2500+. I used to have an Athlon 1gig, thunderbird core-b....

My frame rates doubled and I havn't even overclocked it yet.

I used to get 14 in PP, now i get 30's.
I used to get 30's at P.I.M.P. spot, now i get 72...

EPOX 8RDA+ board
512mb 333 Crucial value RAM (2x 256mb sticks, cost me $36 each :p )
GeForce2 Ti 64mb ram (anyone know if this can be OC'ed ?)

FSB is currently 333, even though the 2500+ is only 266 FSB, but i dont consider it overclocked.

(resolution is 1280x1024)

Ok ive taken a few pics, pc's only overclocked to 4.02 gig atm, and i cba stopping all my downloads / irc etc (its mainly for heat issues in the summer, and not overstressing)

I put it on x8 AA and x16 AF for you, all details on max, no fogging or anything else.

I've put it in a rar so you can see im not 'cheating' as they are the quality screenshots kinda thing.
The numbers arent in exact sequence as i took some 'double shots' just in case the 1st didnt take (always worries me when you take a screenie that the fps jumps down to some stupidly low number)

I also took the 'worst fps' picture i could in plaza 2.

I'd say in plaza 2 it doesnt really drop below 100, normally 111 or 125, though if i look across the entire area is gets as low as 62.

i get about 15-20 running around in plaza 2 with AA at 8x :(

And at your AA being useless comment, no way man, it drops your (mine anyway) FPS sooo much, and makes the game look soo much better.... it really does work.

The fact that the game is processor based is exactly why AA should be turned on. The GFX card isn't under any pressure since the processor is doing all the work. So if you have a decent GFX card there's no reason not to bump AA up. I have AA and Anisotropy set to 4x and Quality (as opposed to performance), the only reason they aren't higher is because I can't be bothered to change it whenever I play something else (Application Preference setting in NC just disables it).

I meant that AA / AF isnt such a huge hit on my pc, and i dont notice much perf hit with it on compared to off, on other games i do notice it, but as nc seems mainly cpu based - it hasnt changed my fps much.

still i dont spend that much on my pc, but buying to futureproof (i.e o/c gear) is good :)

AF set at 2X these are the max settings

Standing in starter apt:
With all ingame options max: 8fps
With all ingame options off/lowest: 18fps
All ingame options off/lowest and AA/AF not enabled: 38fps

here is a pic of what the game looks like with the last settings.

But, I do play with some of the detail settings maxed so the characters dont look like that when I normally play ;)
