this is really bad, i have put up with KK's shit for to long now, saturn is down and offline for over an hour, just before it went offline i was having major problems, and i just got all the parts to my psi core, i realllly hope it is still there.
to whom it may concern :-
stop working on DOY and fix your shitty server problems and laggg .. really it is begining to annoy me majorly, if you cant get the neocron servers operating correctly then dont work on DOY, we would never have these problems if this was a Sony game or so, i mean really guys, u have all these problems then when you receive emails about people loosing stuff you dont care, you do not care about your existing customers instead you are looking to DOY to re-launch the game and consume more people and money then, and there is not even any call for beta testers for DOY, shit bring back the Beta 4 days anytime....... im going to give this game one more chance after these issues are sorted, if i get anything more like this, then i will quit and thats it....infact i think we should start a strike and nobody play neocron until they employee some experts to sort the servers out.
really guys this is very bad service from you, spend some money and sort it out please, or start a charity and we will all donate you a few quid each so u can sort it, a lot of us only play neocron and we deserve good service not some shitty lag and crap..... each patch there is some crap, stop trying to do to much and sort out all the existing bugs, DOY is delayed for years now

Here's a quick statement about some of the current issues:
C) The server hardware and the dbase will be heavily upgraded and/or exchanged. The new setup will be tested during the beta-test, which will launch between late July and mid August.
But yes it is a problem now, i really dont understand how the servers are getting so fucked up when there has been less stress on them with the servers max population dropping between 50-100 players latly.

This really is piss-poor service from KK... I totally agree with what someone said above: forget DoY and get this working as is, otherwise you're going to lose a lot of 'customers'... Servers and server people really aren't that expensive ^^
I also have to say that I think it's way rude to just say 'servers down til morning so go play elsewhere'... I don't have chars on other servers, nor do I feel like making them atm... I pay to play the chars I've created and KK should pay more attention to the phrase 'I pay to play'... Maybe I'd cause KK less hassle by playing another game? No, didn't think so...
P.S. - With all the silly bitching above, this thread was devolving into something like the trade channel can be on Saturn LOL

Stop right there. It's not plural. It's ONE SERVER that consistently has issues - Saturn. The rest are either devoid of major problems (Pluto, Venus), or have very few (Jupiter, Uranus).
Servers and server people really aren't that expensive ^^I really doubt it's the hardware or the people that are the problem. It's probably a database issue where it can't keep up with four slots per player and the higher load on Saturn as compared to the other servers.
It would be cool to graph player slot switching and overlay it with a graph that shows when Saturn gets hosed...

If player slot switching is an issue, maybe KK should implement some solution that makes it easier to move stuff between chars? I like the idea of being able to designate a recipient when putting stuff in a gogo...

There is supposed to be (or was supposed to be) a database move at some point to another platform. Obviously KK's aware of issues with MySQL, but you're trying to say they should throw more hardware/people at the problem. The problem isn't the hardware or the people, it's the database being used, and that's not something your suggested quick fix can address.

I routinely play NC on two separate machines so I can shuffle between my three accounts. Tweak your localport in the ini and you're good to go.
If you wanna twink, you gotta pay - either in downtime or with a second account. Saturn does the former, Pluto does the latter.

My PPU was finally decent, and I spent all last night lomming points. I'm not going through that shit again. I spent a lot of time getting that shit, a lot of trading and whatnot. If its 2 day, you go right before I got the parts for the SA I built, which I sold for 60 mill. and I sold other things that totalled to about 59 mill, and bought a DS. So basically, you fuck my ppu up, and my chances of getting the exact parts I got at MC5 AGAIN. Oh and the lomming, probably 6-7 hours of lomming. Wasted time, figures I do it all when the servers being rolled back.

I sync error into some wierd aprtment. I was unable to use the apt. lift. So when ever i get stuck like that I use the /set kill_self 1. BAD IDEA WAS NOT ABLE TO USE RECOVER MY BACKPACK FROM GR. Tried to ? a gm, but the rpos was bugged :( . Then I saw I had mail, went to a city com click the mail tab. boom crash, and was not able to log back into the game. This all happened 7 or 8 hours ago. still am not able to log on.
I didn't lose enough stuff for a 2-3 day revert. I vote take the loss and move on.

Saturn has been acting up for months. Whether it is lag, Level 3, database problems, screwy transcontinental routers, exhausted hamsters or whatever, we all come to the forum and post our various theories as to what the problem might be.
In all of the threads, I have never seen KK post an explanation as to exactly what the problem is. (maybe they have, but I didn't see it) While we are not necessarily entitled to a detailed explanation, it would be nice to let us know just what the problem is. And as has been proven in the past, a little forthright info from KK goes a long way with the user base.
So this is for you KK...what exactly has been (and still is) the problem with Saturn?

I spent alot of time on that tank I made lvling solo AOE ing mobs for hours and hours took the risk to run through TG/MB to get armour on my PE char. Yeah spent alot of time and money done proto epic with my spy so that I could hopefully trade the chip for a marine to speed things up abit. Damn if I have to do this all over again I don't know if I could be bothered for at least another 3 months :(

Well I have played other games lineage 1 springs to mind and when there server goes down and people lose items and exp they do something cool. They run an event for a few days where the drop rate is increased money items and that sort of thing drop alot more from the mobs. I just lightens the blow and allows the players to gain back some stuff they lost

Well, i've been playing the game since november 2003, and i've been more and more convinced i should've started on uranus to begin with.
I was there yesterday, and they do pk also, but not in such extremes, and they are generaly nicer people to noob chars.
I was hunting for rareparts on my HC tank, and if they roll back two days that means i'll have to relom my constructor, my researcher adn my spy, who lomed almost all his points to become melee.
If I have to do that all over, i might just go level up on uranus and considder saturn my vacation server. (i'll miss all my cool friends on saturn though)
im happy all thats going in saturn, so it dosnt happen on pluto :p

Whew, saturns back, rolled a bit, not too much. I still have my DS, and 9 lom pills to take :P So it was rolled to about 28 hours ago... pretty much exactly.
