That looks pretty cool... but there was this HL2 mod I saw a while back which was better.

I'll see if I can find it.

Yeah I saw that one. It's another type of look however.
I do think this one was more work (if I remember the HL one correctly) :)

I would rather put this one in my living room instead of the HL one to be honest :p (me = design-glass-clean-look-metal-general-fagish-person :p)

Heh I looked at the picture and thought "That looks just like Orac (http://www.blakes-7.demon.co.uk/Gallery/Props/Orac.jpeg) from Blakes 7 (http://www.hermit.org/Blakes7/SevenCyc/O.html#Orac)".. then I saw the name was Orac3

I miss that series. :)

Kinda the same people. It not just enough to get performance from your machine. IE drag racers. It has to look good. IE show cars with huge horsepower. Its about getting all the right stuff in the right package.

With style

I dont get why people care how their computer looks... its not a car your going to use to pick up women... who are you looking to impress? I just build my new computer yesturday... amd 64 3400 and 1 gig of corsair pc3200 etc... it flies... fast as hell, and stable. Thats all that matters. You spend $ on the case and lights... I'll buy fast, stable equiptment.

It looks good if you turn up at a large LAN party with a machine that looks cool. Although I understand the angle you are coming from, as I would go for performance first.

I generally would have to agree with Vet in personal preference... but I do still think its nice to make the computer look nice, maybe spend a few quid, but nothing major like full on case mods.

more coolers + better controll + oc = having a good stable fast machine.. if you do it right that is ;)

a pc isnt just a pc these days, almost every household has one so it part of the furniture, and because most of my house is themed quite modern i dont want an ugly cream box in the corner, instead i make it look interesting and less ugly

Fashion sense. Although I think people who case mod should do the room as well. My machine I have setup so you can see very little if any of the box. Just a nice office desk with little to no noise.

I think artie posted that case mod while back.

Very nice

My case cost $45... its a nice black paint job, no scratches, fans are so quiet I dont know the comps on, AND its staying very cool. I guess to each his own...

BTW, I recommend everyone build there own comp... I figured it out ( my first build) its WAY cheaper then retail, and it feels good playing on something you put togeather and picked out each little part for.

Imagine how you would feel if you paid €2000 in parts to build the most ubar machine and you manage to destroy your processor and motherboard... TWICE. :D

One of jaggehs friends did that.

I am not seeking to impress really. I admit that the case I posted would not really go in my living room, since it would be "too much".

However, I can't have a regular computer case. All my furniture/style is glass, aluminium, concrete, design textiles etc. Even a black case would not fit in.
I can't help if I'm such a design ************

I'll buy a new computer soon and will probably end up with this case :)

How much does that cost on an average to build, Vet, if you don't mind? (Please state whether USA or Canadian or whatever)

Wow... that is a sweet case phunge. Especially if you had a similar style CD player and Amp under/on top of it. Fully awesome. :D

KILLER']more coolers + better controll + oc = having a good stable fast machine.. if you do it right that is ;)

When I think, or speak about, case modding I normally mean the visual stuff, like LED fans or coloured USB cables... rather than cooling or whatever. I kinda assume thats just part of general computer maintenance or OCing.

Vet, you gotta have style to go with performance.

Who would liek to have a 900hp formula one racecar which looked like a diesel garbage dumper ?
