iTunes launches today in Europe, what do you think of the prices ?

clicky (http://www.macworld.co.uk/ituneseurope/)

Also, this isnt so good because NTL are evil.

Clicky (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/05/19/napster_ntl/)

NTL has confirmed its signed the deal today. So I wouldnt be surprised if NTL stops people using Peer 2 Peer software like Kazaa etc.

Will anyone use iTunes or a Napster Service to buy music ?

I hated using kazaa and all these other file sharing programs because sometimes its so hard to find songs that you want, and i like to get full albums to burn onto cd's.. i found this website www.allofmp3.com (http://www.allofmp3.com) you pay 1cent per megabyte you download.. so its like 3-5 cents a song on average.. and about 40-70 cents an album.. ive spent about 17 dollars and downloaded over 25 complete cd's including tool, acdc, a perfect circle, slayer, disturbed, evenescence, machine head, motor head.. etc etc etc.. great site if you ask me.. its russian based, and you can pay with paypal..

If i download a song its just to decide if i'm gonna buy it anyway. If i dont like ill delete it.

Only having the mp3 just isnt enough and i would never pay for that. I just need to have the limited colored 180g vinyl (if there is one) or at least the cd.

I would use iTunes if I could use it in Belgium. Now that it launched in the UK, do you think I can? I'll have to email them :)

I think illegal file sharing for .mp3's actually does the music industry a lot of good.
The big companys may loose out, but the small companies gain.

I have got into several small bands through kazaa. I wouldn't even know who Godpseed You! Black Emporer where if it wasn't for kazaa. Nor any of my other favoraite post-pock bands.

Hell, I'd probabally still be listening to Linken Park, and all the other "big label" bands.

Fuck Sony & EMI bringing this down. What about labels like Constellation, or Peaceville? What about the fact that underground music has been making a real rise recently? I think Kazaa had a lot to do with it, and good on 'em.
