motivated by some threads in the past days where some of you complain
about missing key-players. I thought we have to collect those first here to
see who is a keyplayer and after that we can think about how to develop
them a little bit.

perhaps post some of them here or some key-clans. Just close your eyes
with a faction in your mind and post those names that appear, but open your
eyes again first... ;) try to avoid looking ingame

Seriously, there was a thread about this many months ago and about 2-3 pages in it ended in who was better then who. Lets see if people have restraint since then.

As for pluto.. I am seeing a huge influx of new players, and not just from other servers. Some clans are appearing because of this. I would say in the next two to three months you are going to start to see new players.

Well "Julia Chambers" on Pluto is trying her hardest, Crahn Bless her. But going red seriously damaged her financially as well as out of practise. But she is still around. She would like "Ms Crahn", her hobbies include long walks over the wastelands, avoiding tech haven security systems and killing Angels. ^__^

Well we had some epic fights (like about ALL pro city clans vs ALL of the alliance at shirkan) but in the end it just sucked, yeah. As its now its so much better. Now we just need some more ppl on uranus. :(

So because he left, he no longer loves them? People do get bored in a faction on there own you know, the game is about not only experiancing leveling and character development, but to meet new people, and make new friends, no?

I change factions all the time to help those in need, but Ill always have City Admin as my favourite faction

Next- Next haven't had a good clan in a long time, at least 8 months.

As for runners... I would say that the most famous and skilled people on Saturn are in these factions BD, TG, CM + CA.

I won't say specific runners as to not give anyone an ego boost. And also, anyone that plays on saturn and knows me as Aramat knows I have switched factions a lot but now I am back in TG where most of my friends in game are situated. I plan on staying here for a while and atm I'm in a sort of half playing the game, half doing other games and writing a novel.

Meh, only ever been a saturn boy so i know lil bits, think its difficult to say exactly who coz different runners do different things for factions/clans...still on Saturn my list wud have to be (from the guys i know)...

PP - ChronoDominion (pretty sure hes PP but dont quote me on it)
CS - erm, yeah probably Teom/Cromac/Resser_Aprentice (same bloke)...and i do my best to get around a bit
Bio - Cuthy def takes that one (St. Cuthbert)

Next step for me is to make such a list for every server, next server will be saturn, be patiend. the reason why saturn was the secon list is, i have to look at two forums for it :-)

Whoa thats a lot of people. Multiply that by 4 for every server and thats a lot of contacts. What are you hoping to do with the people on the list?

First step is to get an overview of those players who did a lot of work for their factions.
After we have this list, it is may be possible to support those runners in some way...dont know...
another reason is other players have some one they can contact, or take em as idols, ask their questions or anything else...
and pls notice if you walk out your app hunting their TAGs their will be some Grims meltin you down if you return to your app or some KKs just set your INT=1 o_O :D

Well when some people have 3 or 4 accounts. What does it matter. And not everyone is like that. Most of us do have our fighters in the same faction most of the time same clan.

Yeah, but the people who have more than one account on Pluto tend to make another one to have a tradeskiller for their clan, or to make a PPU (basically a medic tradeskiller).

In the months I played Pluto, I don't think I ever saw someone log an alt to get revenge. It's kind of just not done there. I'm sure it happens, but not often. On Saturn it's universal. You can't kill anyone without having to watch over your shoulder at everyone who comes near you the rest of the night. The worst is the people who log off their high level characters at, say, the Launcher pit in I-06, then bring their new alt there to level him. If they're threatened, or if they see somone else hunting, they just log off, and log on the high level alt and kill, regardless of faction.

This kind of thing isn't the exception on Saturn, it's the rule. This is what's going to make this project so hard if Ratman comes at it this way. The way he's doing it assumes a Pluto/Venus/Jupiter mindset, and Saturn just isn't like that. Uranus isn't either, don't get me wrong, but people there seem to be able to keep their alts a little more separate than Saturn people do.

to be dead honest he does have a point. alot of the uranus community is sliding into the pit saturn is in. they dont give much of a fuck either. its why i left and am happy staying away. i got a clan now in ureal tournament 2004. things are on the up. lets hope doy brings fresh players and some fresh attitudes because the dregs that are left at the mo, well some of them just arent worth bothering with. i dont quantify the whole of either server but theres enough to cause problems for a project like this to capsize.

Having now played exclusively on Saturn for some months, I'm pretty confident in saying that what you're trying to do is nearly a complete lost cause on Saturn. With a few exceptions, no one on Saturn has any loyalty to their faction. Hell, it's not even "red=dead", it's "Anyone I think I can kill that would amuse me=dead".

Faction means nothing on Saturn. Faction on Saturn is just a money sink and time sink while you get your epic stuff before you start PKing. Oh, and your faction determines which selection you choose to do Soul Light missions when you go negative from killing allied and neutral factions.

People have NO PROBLEM with doing things like logging on their Black Dragon monk to take vengeance on a Proto Pharm runner who just killed their NExT alt. See how this makes no sense?

Saturn revolves around colossal egos and instant gratification. Hell, I'm pretty sure that some of the people on your Saturn list are only there because they live to indiscriminately PK, and can't be bothered with the petty nonsense of switching factions to do so, and so have remained in their current faction from apathy...

I guess if anything, you should try and divide Saturn up into "good guys" and "bad guys", as infantile as that sounds, because that's basically what I see.

daring to be different to the above criticisms personally i think there are enough people still on uranus who ACTUALLY do give a fuck about somethin other than pking and who will contribute healthily to a project like this, i know Dribble for one will, SSC take things like this seriously im sure too, not entirely sure about the other clans but i think its safe to say most will follow suit. The people who ruin uranus are the ones who are shite at pvp and have to gangfuck you to get anywhere, they will always be shite at pvp and so the rest of us need to work around em thats all.

My experiences of the pluto community tells me that it will probably be as much of a success there as jupiter is. Apart from not understanding a lot of jupiter-speak i found the community there to be heavy into roleplay whilst at the same time heavy into the action side of things too. I just hope that those 2 communities dont fall foul of the bs that seems to exist on saturn from what ive read on these boards.

(edit im not flaming any particular clan/faction here guys so you saturnites dont get all pissy with me, this is just a general opinion formed from the basis of posts ive read on the subject).

I still do firmly believe that this project can go many lengths to improve nc and just hope that the "im angry at the world as everyone hates me so im gonna be a total asshole hrhr" contingent dont spoil it all for the rest of us.

Most of them are alts of other people (who largely can't be trusted) or people doing epics before they begin their random PK careers.

I've seen all this first hand over the last few months as I've been leveling up my characters on Saturn. You can't turn your back for an instant, on anyone, even friendly factions. It's entirely common to see a group of Crahn, TG and Black Dragons raiding MB together, often with a peppering of Biotech and Proto Pharm thrown in for added spice. All working together. Because they are all on the same Teamspeak or some other inane, irrelevant excuse.

Sadly, people allow real-life (or "internet") friendships to eclipse what little role-playing mechanics are in this game. I've been gleefully gunned down by neutral runners while they are healed and buffed by MY faction allies, who are also hostile to the PKer.

I'm not whining about it, and I don't complain about it. This is how Saturn is. I'm just pointing it out. Would I like to go to a different server? Hell yes. If there were over 100 people on any other server during the US evening/night hours, I'd be there.

But there ain't. So I'm stuck with the bubbling RP cesspool that is Saturn...

There is some truth in saying that Saturn has become a large combat arena where people are joining whichever Faction contains action at any given moment. Faction loyalty is indeed at an all time low.

However, recent initiatives like this thread and appointment give me hope that the community can be re-focused on the faction identities.

There are many runners who are loyal to a certain faction only. It is just many are inactive. However, I suspect less have actually cancelled their accounts that you would imagine, waiting for more active times.

i agree with the pluto portion of a past post. i can't really say (cause i've never consistently played on saturn) but that shit scares me. pluto is definately not like what you explained saturn to be. aside from a few trade-nc spams, it's relatively peaceful. i have a feeling pluto will be a great place for this community-kk type project.

Uranus is not so far off saturn. There was a slight good time after the "alliance wars" now its degraded back into lets bring 8 clans from diff factions to gank any pro CA who tries. Heck I got shot by biotech and DRE before how fucked up is that? Of course as the players get less it gets harder to attack ops as well. The situation is not nearly as bad, generally people don't mess with you unless you want to fight.

I remember the final pro CA fight ronins had, we had like 18 people online, and our enemies bring 8 clans, they had so much people they had to have 3 battle groups, 1 attacking us front, the other behind and worst of half of them was neutral and green making the fight all the more confusing. While the 3rd group sat on the hill waiting anxiously to finish us off. Our leader and two main ppus left the game completely shortly after.

Excuse me your CLAN is one of the worst culprits for killing same faction and allied factions on Uranus. Sorry to lay it on you like that but I do despise Hyprocrisy when I see it. I'm not saying your involved in it some of your members are nice guys but please less of it.

Maybe this is the wrong thread, but I don't see same faction or allied faction killing as being inherently wrong - its the reasons driving the killing that need to be considered.

If a player kills without thought or care for his clan or faction then I agree this is something which is simply not catered for in the current game framework. But the hard fact is this is a PvP game and it should cater for this...

I'd suggest KK implement Anarchy Breed and make them hostile to every faction (including themselves). Players who behave in such a fashion and create major issues should be expelled from their faction (either by faction council if that ever works or possibly by an ingame mechanic where your faction sympathy drops to lower than -50) into anarchy breed. Anarchy Breed has no clans, but possibly faction chat. Rejoining their original faction should require some sort of epic mission and a hell of a lot of money/effort. This gives players who want to PK a home and provides incentives for people who aren't really "hardcore" PK'ers to behave.

I have yet to be randomly killed by a green on all my year and a half on uranus. but on saturn I honestly dont play enough to get killed a lot.

Nice thing about pluto is, is that their isnt as much faction hopping. I have been in two factions since retail hit. Biotech (Eradicaters) when we changed leaders to the almighty carinth we changed over to Pimp (tsunami).

i came to the conclusion that updating such a list of keyplayers here in two
forums with the help of the mods doesnt make sense.

i uploaded an updated simple list and i hope no one complains about missing
any kind of "design" :rolleyes:

in addition i only make any changes on this list if you send me a PM/eMail

Spelly was the CIX NC clan leader, I run the rest of it (ie CIX, CIX CS, CIX irc idle slackers). CIX NC is pretty much defunct now, a couple of us have formed a NEXT clan, not sure what everyone else is doing.

All the clans I think were important on pluto have already been mentioned, but I'm glad to see the likes of Pheonix Ltd have come to Terra. Now if they'd just stop stealing our business :p
