I've always been a big fan of the Delta Force series, played the first one, Land Warrior and Black Hawk Down extensively, always favoured them over frag-fest games such as UT, Quake etc due to them being more tactical, realistic and the emphasis on teamwork, And this is no exception :D

The general playstyle remains the same from BHD, but the graphics have had a major overhaul, although MANY reports of it struggling on peoples systems, including mine.. but I've managed to cope, and many believe these problems will be resolved for the most part in retail. Servers can now hold over 100 people (no Pluto jibes plz ;) ), vehicles can now be controlled.. which is great, i've been having alot of fun mowing people down in a combat chopper :D

Alot of nibs playing, which can get frustrating when you're trying to organize a stike on the opposition, but it's only a demo so far, gotta expect that.

Anyone else tried the demo?

I have. Initially I thought it was great, later on somethings started to annoy me alot. First of all. Who ever loaded my magasine with tracers every 3rd bullet should be shoot. Its a totall give away. Second: That radar who tells you from where you are being shot at. Third: Chopper controls. Way to easy.
Fourth: I`m really growing tired of the endless spawn type of games, like battlefield or Joint Operations. People play as their characters where expendable, running like madmen doing all sorts of stupid things and why shouldn`t they. They are expendable. I`d like to be able to controll how many respawns each player could have.

I was pretty sure I would buy this game at first, but now I very much doubt it. I`ll be waiting for operation flashpoint 2 instead.

People play as their characters where expendable,

Yep, I played it at first and enjoyed it but then as I got in to it it became more and more annoying. Soldner is terrible for this type of over expendability too, a lot of people spawn with the base $3000 cash you get, buy a rocket launcher, and just run in with a "I have one shot but I'm guarnenteed to get a frag for it and then I can just spawn again with another $3000 and get another one" mentality... same deal in Joint Ops, tried them both in the same night and decided to go back to Operation: Flashpoint

while i enjoy these games on occasion... they dont get the addrenaline pumping like a quick game.

i cant stant the new quakes / UT's (Gimme Q1 and UT anyday :p), but i tend to play a HL mod called The Specialists (www.specialistmod.net) which is nice and fast paced... great for the adrenaline :)

I've always loved the Tom Clancy series of games. Rainbow six and what not.

Mirco - Nope. We do at our LAN partys but even then it's only like 8 people and on the novelty, smaller sized maps. It's such a shame because it was such a great game.

Ok first points there, tracers.. where people can see where you're firing from and vice versa, this is merely a default option with NovaWorld servers. Most player/squad run servers have this *off* so don't let that put you off.

Choppers, yeh.. easy to fly and get a fair few kills with, but equally easy to take down with a few stingers.

As far as respawning is concerned, that's really what the demo scenario is all about, Advance and Secure.. meaning the goal is to take and defend various spawn points. The harder your team presses for them, the harder it is for the opposition to re-spawn in or near key locations.

When retail hits, good servers where everyone plays properly will pop up, that's when the game will really shine. Idiots run rampant in this demo

I hope so Radamez. Its not that I think JO is a bad game, its just that some stuff gets in the way of my enoyment of it.
