exchange adv. nerves 3 asap with reflex booster 1 (when u got the int for heavy fire belt)

use HOLY spirit boots -.- :p

get a chest implant and use SPY 3 not support 3 :wtf:

take down atl

i would use FH1 (or FH2 together with moveon), personal preference though

and get a DS :wtf:

You know, I'm really lost on all these people specing little to no Athletics. With 100 Agility, you think you seriously don't need any ATL? So does that mean I can nerf all my Melee Tank's or Pistol PE's ATL and pump my resists :wtf:

So I'm supposed to nerf all my PPU's ATL in light of my high AGL so that I can......have more health? With resists as they are, I could really only do with more health, which is at 426.

Monk INT is approximately 50-60 Constant leveling hours (based on a non-trade skill route, I don't know how it will work with trade skills, especially now the XP from CST/RES/etc has been boosted) to cap (I'm being generous with 60).


Not too shabby on that PPU setup Sigma, it's almost on par with my PPUs.

IMO good PPU's (this can be anyone) should never need to use drugs.

Drugflash in the middle of a battle of a major support class really is not the best thing lol, apart from fatals O_o

I for one haven't specced ANY atl on my monk and i run on par with any tank i've met so far (ok I'm on Redflash all the time since it doesn't affect hlt anymore, used beast before, but that's no longer possible)

I remember ppl using h4xed holy shelter armor, eledh.. :\ ubar resists..^

btw, paratemol forte is teh win for monks who can handle with a single drug..


@ QD: Punisher Ressearch: 20k INT XP
Punisher Construct : 40k INT XP, 40K DEX XP, and some str xp.

ressearch done with Skill 252, Construct with Skill 235.


Btw, ppl, pls accept that athletics affects the movement different then agl.. u can reach speedcap with low ath too..

EDIT: In regards to the poking, I use the glove and the new drug to get 115. Aside from that, I use no drugs at all.

Melee which does poison damage only hurts if I stand still (i.e. every hit registers). Ask Kreole about poison damage, he tried to kill me with poison beam at MC5 last week, and I didn't die.

I have fought at OP wars, I have stood around in PP1, and I have fought real enemies. 5 tanks gunning CSes at me in PP1 didn't kill me, so I think I am doing fine right now.

EDIT: What version of Skillmanager is everyone using, and how do I get it?

If you want to still cap ROF on your spells I'm almost positive you can only have ONE tradeskill besides PSU in INT (maybe new drugs allow a low IMP skill to an extent aswell as hacking). Also this requires artifact spells in most cases too which not everyone has, so hacking and poking is kinda gimpy no matter what way you look at it.

Driving revelers (37) is ok...but that 72 VHC..you must be slow especially with that PA on.

My PPU caps his heal and has 72 i think agility and atl what else could be wanted? Cap on resists is un necessary and my shelter casts at around 36 per min so i'd say that poking and hacking is well worth it

Why not spec more points in PPU like 180 or 185 ? having all int in PSU (lvl 90 make 205 PSU helps a bit with pool), have PPW92 MST 87 and spec PPU (withPA3) ?
Does it mean that when u reach PPU175 you can capp the spells by speccing more points in PPW instead of PPU ? I was wondering . I got 5 more levels to capp Psi and got PPU175. I was wondering where to put those points.

PPW also adds to spell dmg. You really dont need pure PSU on a monk. You have enough left over to spec hack or IMP. PSU does not have that big of a effect on your pool like it used to. Due to one of the first hybrid herfs. You gain nothing my speccing higher PSU then capping your spells.

Up to you really. Increaseing PPU over what is needed does effect your RoF. Or more PPW to get a higher pool. It's all really your choice in the long run. I prefer a higher PSI pool. Using the setup on the testserver that i have my rank is 85 and a pool of 360ish. And that char pokes TL 115 wth glove and spy3.

Indeed slaught, as you said, more PPU will give more Damage and ROF, while PPW will increase damage (less then PPU) but increases pool. It actually depends on the gear you wear and the way you want to play.

Well haven't made up my mind still :) My PPU on venus has 182PPU MST88 put what's left in PPW for a capped PPU (Def2/3 Core Exp3). I can use HC sanct, capped holy rezz freq on a 2 slotter but has PSU 207, 566% on a 2 slots holy shelter.

With all your int in PSU, you have rof/range covered easily. That means you don't need as much in PPU, you can lom some over to PPW. Together you'll still cap damage were it's needed, but the bonus is you'll also have a large pool. A large pool has many advantages. You will use boosters less often, because you will still have psi leftover after casting other spells. For example the highest costing spell is holy cath sanct, at 306 psi. With a pool around 400, you can cast it and still have plenty of psi to shelter/deflector/heal. A good ppu should always have some psi available for an emergency rebuff or heal. The best part of having a high pool though is that it boosts your regen. So not only do you have more psi, but you regen it faster too.

So while it's possible to take up a tradeskill and still be a good ppu, you do give up some combat ability. If you want to get the most out of your character in combat, you go pure combat.

There are plenty of GREAT PPU's on the saturn server that have tradeskills. You can take up tradeskill and still cap all spells. And no you dont need capped INT to do it.

But I can still compete and do quite well in pvp. What I'm saying is that you do give up some combat ability by taking even the smallest tradeskill. A great tradeskiller ppu would be even better as a pure combat ppu, it's just a fact. You shouldn't make it seem as if there's no difference between a tradeskiller ppu and combat ppu. The day that's true is the day ppu's surpass spies as tradeskillers and should be nerfed once again. They're already dangerously close, especialy with the new imp drugs. Tradeskilling should be possible and should still allow you to be good in combat, but not to compete at the same level as a pure combat character.

A semi OT question.

The holy cath sanct... Are people using it? I mean in PvP it cannot be used, since it affects the enemy as well. As defense ok, but if you are in middle of the battle and you go "oops all died" I preffer using my more or less constantly belted anti freeze spell instead (which has a rof of like 50-60). Swtiching in the cath and cast that takes too long time no?

I've even de-specced MST, I have only 85 now. Sure, it takes away dmg boost as well, but as I said... switch it in and wait for it to cast when you have only seconds to retreat?

In the shaman cave and graves I use the psn sanct anyway.

When are you others using the holy cath sanct? :)

well the usual, should you put all in psu or not, to have 85 in implant is nice as you can poke everything up until now, and if you have a high int the rof on spells is 52/min on heal and like 46 on holy shelter, wich is more than you will ever be able to cast during a minute anyways. But you need a high int to get a high psu, Im not bothered cause I'll cap int this week with some luck and that helps alot with the rof. think it will end up on 187 or 188 psu.

I saw something really wierd posted by Quantum Delta in this thread I belive yester day, something like it takes 50 - 60 straight hours to cap int on monk? hmm I wonder what planet you play on. I've been playing over a year on my ppu I heavent powerlvled every singel day for one year, but say I've been putting time aside to do in total an average of like atleast 3h a day playing with one or 2 apu's barreling, and whatnot on whatever mob you might find in this game ALOT. And 3h a day jumps me past those 50 - 60h in less than a month. An apu has it even harder. So HELL no the int on a monk isnt capped in 50 - 60 hours. atleast not to my gotdamn knowladge :)

To bring up the new drugs. A tank can poke TL 113 with them. Close but still far off. What about pistol spy's you think they need 100 INT in WEP. Hardly close to it. They can have 1 sometimes 2 tradeskills and still be just as effective in combat. I dont even want to here your shit on this subject. What effects one class should effect every class. Your monk/tradeskilll theory is full of holes. You just dont have the ability to realize it. And tanks will be nerfed next not monks.

Identing rares and other stuff like that might boost the int when midlvl, havent tried now tho after the tradeskill exp increase, but Im sure it will take more than 50 - 60 straight hours of identing rares aswell to cap int.

Heal is the only one that caps at 52. All single shields are 42. Heal sactum 32 heal group 42 and all group shields are 30. Rare sactums are from 10 to 13. 13 only being the anti-poison sactum.

Do you have any idea why Monk Int is so slow in the first place? Our Int used to be fast, on par with Spies Int gain. It was possible to cap int on a Monk quite easily, it was actualy easier then a Spy. Ontop of that, we did not need PSU that much, which meant every single Monk could pick up a tradeskill easily. Hacking Hybrids were quite popular, back when a single hack was needed, one guy could take your op from you. There was 0 reason to be a spy tradeskiller. Monks leveld faster, Monks took up tradeskills easier, Monks rendered Spies utterly useless. This was fixed with two changes, first Monk Int gain was reduced by a lot and second PSU was made more important. Monk Int gain has recently been raised because the PSU fix was so effective. But even that has been eroded, PSU isn't nearly as important as it used to be.

I'm sorry that you like being able to do everything as a ppu and also take up tradeskills. I enjoyed being a super ppu and having noone able to kill me. I also enjoyed being a 50/50 Hybrid. But I can also recognize that they were unbalanced and needed to be fixed. Everytime you say PPU's don't need much PSU and can easily take up Hack or Imp, you are diggin your own grave. It's the same as when hybrids boast about how awesome their setups are, that they're unstopable, etc.

What does pistols have to do with it? I already said Spies are supposed to have an advantage as tradeskillers. Pistols give them one, letting them easily tradeskill and still be good in pvp. Droning is the same way, with Droner/Constructors a popular pick. Class balance does not mean equality. Each class should have an advantage and disadvantage. Tanks are easily setup for Pvp, but not for much else. Spies are difficult to setup for pvp, but excel in other areas. Don't you see the problem in having Monks able to do both? Easy to setup for pvp and non pvp?

re: Cath Sanct
It's one of the most useful PPU spells ever. I used to use it in PvP all the time. Not only is it essential for combat rezzing, but it's also good for when you're outnumbered. In order to kill a ppu you must shock them at least, adding on dmg boost helps quite a bit aswell. With cath sanct you negate para/boost spamming and have nothing to worry about, aside from debuffs. It's also handy when you're defending an op, your team has only to run towards you and any malus spells are removed. I really miss that spell : ( My current setup for barter doesnt give me enough psi to cast cath sanct.

Hacking Hybrids were quite popular, back when a single hack was needed, one guy could take your op from you. There was 0 reason to be a spy tradeskiller. Monks leveld faster, Monks took up tradeskills easier, Monks rendered Spies utterly useless. This was fixed with two changes, first Monk Int gain was reduced by a lot and second PSU was made more important. Monk Int gain has recently been raised because the PSU fix was so effective. But even that has been eroded, PSU isn't nearly as important as it used to be.

Like i said if they make over specing PSU worthwhile you might get away from tradeskilling monks. Untill then there is no point. And i'm not talking about raising how high you need PSU to cap spells. Talking about it effecting your PSI pool.


I'm sorry that you like being able to do everything as a ppu and also take up tradeskills. I enjoyed being a super ppu and having noone able to kill me. I also enjoyed being a 50/50 Hybrid. But I can also recognize that they were unbalanced and needed to be fixed. Everytime you say PPU's don't need much PSU and can easily take up Hack or Imp, you are diggin your own grave. It's the same as when hybrids boast about how awesome their setups are, that they're unstopable, etc.

Because i'm speaking the truth? Sorry if you would to prefer to lie about your shit setup. But i'm telling it how it is.


What does pistols have to do with it? I already said Spies are supposed to have an advantage as tradeskillers. Pistols give them one, letting them easily tradeskill and still be good in pvp. Droning is the same way, with Droner/Constructors a popular pick. Class balance does not mean equality. Each class should have an advantage and disadvantage. Tanks are easily setup for Pvp, but not for much else. Spies are difficult to setup for pvp, but excel in other areas. Don't you see the problem in having Monks able to do both? Easy to setup for pvp and non pvp?

I was referring to the fact that pistol spies can get 2 tradeskills. Or alot of PSU and enough hack for OP's and still cap pistols.

It's one of the most useful PPU spells ever. I used to use it in PvP all the time. Not only is it essential for combat rezzing, but it's also good for when you're outnumbered. In order to kill a ppu you must shock them at least, adding on dmg boost helps quite a bit aswell. With cath sanct you negate para/boost spamming and have nothing to worry about, aside from debuffs. It's also handy when you're defending an op, your team has only to run towards you and any malus spells are removed. I really miss that spell : ( My current setup for barter doesnt give me enough psi to cast cath sanct.

Plain and simple it's a noob spell. You dont need it. Takes to long to cast. Did i mention it's for noobs. Effects your enemies as well as you. Only good for GRing into a GR that you dont know what is on the other site. And you still dont even need it then.

Heal is the only one that caps at 52. All single shields are 42. Heal sactum 32 heal group 42 and all group shields are 30. Rare sactums are from 10 to 13. 13 only being the anti-poison sactum.

Took me about 5 mins, so I think I will have to tweak it as well. Its a more general setup as it specs POR, but I think if I was to use it for standard PvP I would spec more fire and switch to a Holy Spirit belt. Then if Poison was oqning me, I could put on a heavy poison belt without it gimping my fire resist.
