Hi there,

I want to buy a new pc (without screen, mouse, keyboard) and I have about 1000 euro to spend. Does anybody have some advice what I should buy? I am thinking about a AMD-processor, 2 harddisks, MoBo don't know yet. Especially advice about videocards (ATI Radeon?) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Depending on what you want you can go for a 64 bit amd or not.
Personaly i wouldn't go for it yet, as the other ones are a lot cheaper.
Get 1mb of dual channel ram, overclock your processor and get a good cooler on there.

Then as for a video card, i recently bought a Leadtek 5900XT and flashed a Leadtek 5950 Ultra bios on there (it is basically the same card) so i now run at 475/950 on that card and the computer sees it as an ultra. I won't however advise overclocking the memory on that card as it isn't cooled much.
(€200 for 5900xt vs €380 for ultra)

Use two harddrives in raid for speed and get an extra (old one or so) to use purely as swapspace for your memory.

get like a HT proccessor or a dual one, it makes everything go alot faster

HT or dual CPU's only makes things written to use more than one CPU faster.
I dont think Neocron would make very good use of 2 or more CPU's.

AMD FX51 Processor
min. 1GB Ram (take good one like Cosair)
i would prefer a GF Graka like a 5950 Ultra or wait till the GF 6 comes out.
S-ATA HD should be it as well

An FX51 CPU and Motherboard alone would cost about the 1000 Euro that was the max price for the whole system :-)

Put an GF6800 and some RAM on top and you are looking at around 2000 Euro or more.

AMD 3200+ barton $179.00
ABIT NF7-S $85.00
2 maxtor 60 gig 8mb cache sata drives $154.50
Tyan 9800 pro $265.00
Antec True 430w PSU $69.00
Sony 16x DVD drive $29.00
Sony 52x32x32 CD-RW $31.00
I will leave the case up to you really it's just preferance and style.

$812.5

659.36 Euro

This is very similar to what i run i dont have the good of a processer but i have mine running faster then this one. I also use 2 120 gig drives in raid 0. And a slightly bigger PSU plus a DVD burner.

i would say stay away from the 64 bit platform till next upgrade. Wait till the 64 bit system really picks up. As it is right now, theres very few programs that even run takes slight advantage of it. as for videocards, I would go either a 9800 pro or 5900u as theyre price is damn good and the performance is amazing. Those cards will run the soon dx9 games pretty damn well. For mem I would go Corsair or OCZ, OCZ is a pimp ass brand with tight preformance and a good price tag. AMD I would say go 2500+ barton, you can easily oc it to 3200+ speeds, even if the CPU is locked. Mobo I would recommend a Nforce2 board, personally I use a MSI K7n2 Delta-L and it works flawlessly, good price tag also. As for HDs, thats on you, I really dont care about HD's, 40-80 gig and 7200rpm is fine by me.

Over all if you go and built my system

2500+ barton
2x256mb OCZ PC3200
ATI 9800 PRO
MSI K7N2 DELTA-L

cost you about 500-600 usd and if they support shippin to over there I would go with newegg.com , theyre the best I've seen online. Theyre refurbished shit is on point too, built bonnies comp outta theyre refurbished parts and it runs smooth as a wet.......hmmm

Get a better motherboard. Get 1 gig of ram. the 2500 is the low end barton. Go for the 3000 or the 3200. And newegg does not ship out of the USA.
