Forum Intrusion Statement (27th Aug 2013)

Dear Community,

As some of you are aware, we experienced an intrusion into our community forum in the early hours (UTC) of Tuesday 27th August 2013. After a thorough investigation over the course of the last day, we are able to confirm that the attack was only minimal.

Malicious activity was only at the template level of our forums, no other areas of our web space were targeted. This means only the visual aspects of the software were attacked, some of you will have witnessed the temporary replacement page before we took the forum offline.

No data was compromised during the attack, your personal data was not affected nor accessed. As always the Neocron Support Team takes data protection very seriously and we make every effort to secure your personal data. Again, no data was compromised during the attack.

Our installation of vBulletin has now been updated to the latest available version of the branch we use. Although there was small attack yesterday (Sunday 8th September 2013), which prompted us to close the forum temporarily, no data was compromised and your personal data remains unaffected and was not accessed.
