rhino v2 bugged?

a friend and I were using a V2 rhino at an OP fight and we had a tank with a devourer up our ass for a bit. my friend (he was driving) started to take dmg from the devourer
arent ppl in a rhino supposed to be completely protected?
it seems to be possible to somehow target ppl inside the rhino and damaging them

any response on this issue from the GM/dev team?
is or isnt it possible to hit ppl inside a rhino? if it should not be possible then this is clearly bugged

all i can think of is that its like GR's being targetable trough walls. that sometimes if someone gets right up against the back of a rhino they might be able to target the driver/gunner/passengers for a split second. enough to get a partial hit and do some minor dmg each time.
