    I too would like to know the state of the straight up mainskill modifier chips, such as motoric 2. And am I to understand that we are removing the + to mainskill from chips such as vehicle interfaces? That wouldn't be too good in my book as I use chips like that to get the DEX boosts at earlier levels and, in a sense, make leveling faster. Of course, I realize that I haven't played any of the test server content.

    I guess verdicts will need to be saved until I see it go live.

    so i mean... is this redesign going to happen AFTER 2.2 is released?

    so.. we're going to setup our chars then have to LOM everything after you change all the imps? i dont know about other people returning but.. i dont want to come back until at least the basic things are finalized.

    Just want to add something from the initial thread I made:

    'If all the offence subskills are located on imps that add main stats, then not only will you reduce variation within a weapon choice, but also those chars with lower tl setups are going to be at a disadvantage.
    Chars with higher tl weapons will have higher bonuses to their subskill and leave the low tl users even more behind.

    Low subskill effects on main skill imps means that aiming for higher TL weapons reduces the availiable amount of offence subskill that are availiable to you. So even if you were to stretch very high (like a PE going for 110 dex), the overall effectiveness would be less than that of the aforementioned 'common TL range', as you use up more imp slots with mainstat imps, forgoing the pure offence subskill ones.'


    The first post of this thread gave the impression that the new system will continue with the current location and magnitude of mainstat and subskill effects, which was one of the (several) main points the rework aimed to rectify.

    Redesigning the imps eh? My 2 cents here.

    NO NEGATIVES ON MC5s. AT ALL. They are hard as hell to get (Ive played 4 damn years and cba to get one)

    SMALL negatives on things like SF's and SRIs and the such. They are pretty good now but the agi on some of em can hurt.

    RUNSPEED PLZ. running around is a major part of the game and by not being able to run you basically become a giant peice of meat with a gun liable to get turned to swiss cheese by 7.62mm rounds in a matter of seconds. EVASION!

    It depends on the type of negatives. I use an SF and a SWAT atm on DJ, something that is probably not intended (or rather perhaps not intended to go without it's down sides). A respective pistol and rifle malus would not affect it's intended users, but would limit how far the char could multi-task, given the assumed degree of specialisation they have expressed in their use of that imp.

    As for ath/agl negative effects, it's quite possible that situation will be resolved with the imp changes, allowing us to freely spec ath, thus speeding the game up considerably.

    i really hope they fix the ath negatives.. thats annoying me most.

    i hope this implant redesign comes asap. its annoying to be setting up our chars now; but maybe need to completely redo them gah

    They probably still got it planned. But i doubt they already started another implant redesign yet.

    There's so many useless implants that don't make any sense. Also there's implants that should have counterparts for other weapon or tradeskill categories.
